Fishing
Renesse is an ideal location for fishing. Everywhere around you there are fishing waters to be found for both fresh and salt water fish. All kinds of fish can be caught in the vicinity of Renesse;

Diving
The waters around Renesse are popular among divers. The lake called the Grevelingen is cut off from the North Sea and offers untold beauty, but also the Eastern Scheld and the North Sea itself provide plenty of challenge and adventure for both the less experienced and expert divers. The island of Schouwen-Duiveland has a few dozen of diving sites.

Cycling
Renesse and the environment are well suited for cycling trips, the many cycling paths through the dunes and the country roads offer a wide variety of scenery. Per bicycle you can travel through the dunes, forest and along the water.

Walking
Because of the beautiful natural environment of the island, The Kop van Schouwen is a well known area for pedestrians. The excellent weather (the island has the most hours of sun in Holland) will allow you to walk throughout the entire year. Many paths will take you through the dunes, the forests and onto terrain where you may encounter animals such as deer, pheasants and foxes.

Horseback riding
There are plenty of paths leading through and alongside the dunes or forests of the island, these are specially made for horseback riding and are marked with signs. Most of the paths can be found on the local maps of the area.

Events

Concert at Sea
This yearly event at the Brouwersdam attracts known artists every year. The local band Bløf is the host at this event. Be sure to check www.concertatsea.nl for more information!

Harbour Days in Zierikzee
The best muscle event in Zierikzee! On the Saturday there are numerous activities in and around Zierikzee, including the boat trip with muscle fishing boats to collect Neptune, a dinner boulevard, live music and demonstrations. The date is always the fourth Saturday in August.

Stroa Renesse
This event is held every spring in Renesse. Local horses are decorated and walk to the beach to wash their feet in the salty sea water. In Renesse itself there are all kinds of activities, especially for children.
